Garment-Dyed Sweatshirt · Eight Colors · Designed in Colorado
Red wooden skis in the snow, the lodge lights on, the last gondola coming down.
Shown in Denim, styled with a puffer vest for the photo only — the vest is not included. You are buying the sweatshirt. Garment-dyed 9.5 oz heavyweight brushed fleece, soft from the first wear.
A pair of old red wooden skis with leather bindings, planted upright in the snow with two bamboo poles beside them. Behind, a timber lodge with every window lit and a thread of smoke from the stone chimney, snow-heavy pines, a single red gondola car crossing on its cable, and the peaks going blue in the late light. Painted in the manner of the old alpine travel posters — soft grain, deep greens, oxblood red — with the mountains forming the top edge of the print. No text, no resort name: it's every ski town you've ever loved, and none of them in particular.
The Design
Large front-centered chest print — not a back print
Subject: vintage red wooden skis and poles in the snow, a timber ski lodge, a red gondola, snowy pines and alpine peaks
Style: painted vintage travel-poster illustration with soft paper grain
No text. There is no lettering, slogan, resort name or wordmark anywhere in this design
Technique: a printed graphic — the ink sits in the fleece, straight onto the garment color with no background panel, and nothing is stitched or sewn on
The same scene carried across eight garment-dyed grounds — the shirt color becomes the sky.
Après ski just means "after skiing," and the Alps gave it to the rest of the world in the 1950s along with the gondola and the poster. Skis then were ash or hickory, painted and varnished, with leather straps that buckled over your boots and bamboo poles with leather baskets. They were heavy, they were beautiful, and they stood by the lodge door all evening in a row while their owners thawed out inside. The last run was the one you took alone after everyone else had gone in — slower, quieter, the slope to yourself and the lights coming on below.
The Story Behind It
✦ ✦ ✦
Her father ran the lift. Not the resort, not the lodge — the lift, the old red gondola that went up at eight and came down for the last time at four-fifteen, and for thirty winters he was the one who sent it up and brought it home. He wore the same wool coat the whole time. He knew every regular by their skis before he knew them by their faces.
She grew up at the bottom of that cable. After school she'd sit in the lift hut with her homework and the heater ticking, and at four-fifteen he'd let her ride the last car down with him — the mountain emptying out, the lodge windows coming on one by one below, the snow turning blue. He never said anything on that ride. He didn't have to. It was the best fifteen minutes of every day, and they both knew it.
The lift's been replaced twice since. The red car is in a museum two towns over. She still goes up on the last run of the day, every winter, and rides down slow.
✦ ✦ ✦
Wear it for the last run, and for the one who taught you to take it slow.
The print runs large and centered on the chest, straight onto the garment color — no panel, no frame, not a back print.
A gift for the skier who'd rather be on the mountain than talk about it, the one who still has their first pair of wooden skis in the garage, or anyone whose favorite part of winter is the lodge after the lifts close. Nothing on it ties it to a holiday, so it wears from the first snow in November to the last corn-snow day in April.

80% ring-spun US cotton, 20% polyester, 9.5 oz heavyweight — substantial, and warm enough to be the layer rather than something under one

The graphic will not crack or peel. It is printed flat into the face of the fleece — no heavy vinyl patch, no rubbery texture, nothing to pull loose
Choosing a Color
The design is cream snow, deep pine green, oxblood-red skis and warm yellow windows, with no painted sky — the shirt color is the sky. The darks turn it into dusk; the blues make it a bluebird day.
Pepper. A soft washed black, closer to charcoal than jet. The snow glows and the lodge windows look lit from inside — the last run at nightfall, which is why the page opens on it.
Blue Spruce. Deep evergreen, the color of the pines in the print. Red skis on dark green is the most alpine of the eight.
Grey. A light heathered grey — a snow sky. Calm and neutral, and the easiest of the eight to give.
White. A soft, warm off-white. The snow merges with the shirt, so this one reads as pines, skis and lodge — the quietest version, more poster than scene.
Light Green. Soft sage. The pines settle in and the red skis step forward — a gentler, cabin feel.
Chambray. The palest washed blue, like a clear cold morning. The scene reads as a bluebird day with fresh snow.
Blue Jean. A light washed denim — a high-altitude afternoon sky. Red skis against blue is the classic poster pairing, and it's the easiest to wear year round.
Denim. A dark washed indigo, the sky at dusk after the lifts close. Moody and rich; the lodge windows carry it.
Garment-dyed colors look softer and more muted in person than on a screen, and each piece varies slightly. That lived-in tone is part of the charm.
Sizing
A relaxed unisex cut that most people wear true to size. Size down one for a closer fit.
Adult sizes only, S to 3XL. Between sizes? We will make it right, free.
